• Price and Quantity: Price can also be a factor, as you don’t want to pay above the quality scale for a product, and quantity is a factor as there is often varying degrees of quantity breaks. Companies that specialize in custom sleeves in bulk or that are b2b based, usually offer quantity price breaks, whereas B2C facing companies will not be able to offer these types of discounts.
• Manufacturing lead time and the process of your supplier is an important factor as well. You want to firstly see if the supplier can provide your cases by the time you want or need them. This is the first and potentially major roadblock that could cross a potential supplier from your list. Other things you want to then look for are things such as the lead time and process, and whether it is listed out well. Another is whether the manufacturer can send you a pre-production sample. A pre-production sample is important, because you want to see that the corporate branding is adhered to, the colors match, the logo is straight and it is all consistent with what you require. If it isn’t, most suppliers will be able to remake and re-test their production or methods, and it can be a good way to catch problems early, rather than once you have the sleeves and there isn’t enough time left.
