Where’s the Best Place to Buy a Phone Case That’s Customized?

Phones, in all varieties, are expensive items. Whether you’re running with the latest iPhone technology, Android phone, or a different model altogether, protecting your investment is crucial when it comes to forking money out on a pricey smartphone.

Of course, phone cases can be purchased in all manner of different shops. From supermarkets to high-street retailers. But why would you compromise and settle for a run-of-the-mill case that everybody else has? Why wouldn’t you seek out a custom phone case that better reflects your values and personality?

To do that, you’re going to have to think outside the box a little. That’s why, in this article, we’ll be covering 10 of our favorite online merchants for smartphone cases.

1. DecalGirl

First on our list is DecalGirl – a Delaware-based retailer that offers an extensive range of both phone cases and protective skins. What began as a niche company focused on the design of decorative skins for elite sportscars is now one of the leading online retailers in the smartphone case business.

Unlike many, DecalGirl’s smartphone cases are very easy to apply and remove without leaving any sticky residue behind, tarnishing the sleek look of your device. They provide a range of different phone cases, covering super-brands like Apple and Samsung, as well as smaller manufacturers like Kyocera, HP, LG, and others.

Of course, many of the phone models listed above are quite expensive. But even if you’re working with a budget smartphone, DecalGirl offers cases and skins to suit all customers. They also allow the printing of designs onto niche items such as drones and headphones.

Best of all, though, is that the company allows its customers to create their very own bespoke smartphone case or skin. And, if you’re not particularly design-savvy, don’t worry. They offer an array of design templates to choose from, so you’re bound to find something that suits your preferences.

If you’re looking to purchase promotional phone cases for your business, DecalGirl also offers branded and corporate sales to customers. Moreover, DecalGirl ships to over 85 countries worldwide, offering a range of different shipping options to meet your time demands.

Pros:

Here are a few advantages to DecalGirl’s services.

  • User-friendly interface for creating custom phone cases
  • Ships worldwide
  • Offers promotional sales to businesses

Cons:

There is, however, a drawback.

  • Business prices are not listed on the website and require a quote.

2. Skinit

Next up is Skinit, a fast-growing San Diego-based business, specialising in the custom-printing of a range of technological devices.

When purchasing merchandise, users are given the ability to create their very own cases with ease. Skinit provides some pretty cool designs from their licensed brand library, too, enabling you to work with existing designs should your artistic capabilities fall short of the standards you require.

Tailoring to a niche audience, Skinit is one of the largest providers of license-free images and vectors, many of which are specific to sports like NFL, NBA, and NHL, as well as themed images from classics like Disney, Harry Potter, and DC.

In 2014, Skinit released a new line of protective merchandise, which they called the Skinit inkFusion cases. These are hard-shell wraps, printed with colour-rich designs and wraps that’ll cover your phone edge-to-edge.

Skinit doesn’t just provide phone cases, though. Whether it’s for your laptop, game console, or headphones, they have custom-printing options for just about every household technology.

If you’re a business looking to print promotional products, Skinit does offer business-to-business deals and corporate wholesale. They also provide a 50% discount on orders of 10-100 units.

Pros:

Here are the pros of using Skinit for your phone case needs.

  • Offers international shipping
  • Sleek, user-friendly website
  • Range of different designs

Cons:

There are also cons, however, to working with Skinit.

  • International shipping is only available for economy class and can take as long as four weeks to be delivered.
  • Business wholesale prices are unclear and hard to locate

3. Vistaprint

Vistaprint is a globally recognised brand known for its ability to custom-print designs onto an extensive range of items – from signages for trade shows to business cards and, of course, phone cases.

Within Vistaprint’s website, you’ll be able to create a custom case to suit your stylistic preferences, importing your images or illustrations with ease.

One of the things that makes Vistaprint unique is that they allow you to look at exactly how the phone case will look before it’s shipped to you. That way, you can be totally certain that you’re investing your money into a case that you’ll be completely happy with.

Vistaprint’s iPhone case prices begin at £11.53, although they don’t appear to offer custom-printed phone cases on a wholesale basis for businesses.

Pros:

Here are a few of the benefits of creating custom cases with Vistaprint.

  • Offers samples of products
  • Fast international delivery to a wide range of countries
  • Easy to contact if you have any questions

Cons:

Vistaprint may not be for everyone, though, as this single drawback points out.

  • Don’t offer corporate wholesale options.

4. Etsy

Etsy has gained massive popularity in the realm of customised, handmade products in recent years. Most commonly associated with Etsy are artisanal products such as jewelry and artwork, but there is also a range of different custom-made phone cases available from individual stores.

The customizability of phone cases being sold on Etsy will vary from seller to seller. Some stores offer total customisation over their cases, while others may be more limited, giving you the option only to alter text within an existing design.

Many Etsy sellers only supply products on a business-to-customer basis. While there may be a few niche stores that offer corporate wholesale, few do. Sellers may also be located anywhere in the world, so shipment prices and timings can vary greatly.

Pros:

Etsy draws loyal customers primarily for the following reasons.

  • Offers a wide range of different products
  • A large, reputable business
  • Provides an array of unique, bespoke phone cases

Cons:

Similar to Vistaprint, Etsy also does not cater to the widest range of sectors in the market.

  • Wholesale sellers are hard to find

5. Case-Mate

Based in Atlanta, GA, Case-Mate is an attractive, easy-to-use website and manufacturer of custom-made phone cases. Case-Mate offers a unique DIY experience to customers wishing to customise their phone cases before purchasing entirely.

What’s most obvious upon entering Case-Mate’s site is its extensive range of different cases, ranging from soap bubble cases to bright neon.

Case-Mate does allow reselling and distribution to their customers, offering contact details for three sales directors in the regions of Canada, USA, Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This makes it easy to have your needs met wherever in the world you plan to make sales.

While Case-Mate does have an option to create a custom phone case, it’s unclear whether this is available on a B2B or B2C basis. There are examples of ‘Collabs’ between Case-Mate and other brands, though, so such customisation options may indeed be available in specific circumstances.

Pros:

You might want to consider Case-Mate due to the following reasons.

  • Offers international shipping
  • Wide range of case styles

Cons:

However, you may feel discouraged due to these.

  • Not fully customisable
  • Wholesale opportunities are unclear

6. Wrappz

Next on our list is Wrappz, a UK-based company that was established in 2007. Wrappz utilises cutting-edge hardware and software technologies to create bespoke, custom-made cases for a range of different technological devices.

Wrappz allows customers to custom phone cases from scratch. As many photos as desired can be added to their design interface, where they can be scaled, rotated and edited. Users can also add text to designs, enabling them to create a completely unique case suited to their stylistic preferences.

On their site, Wrappz also has a range of pre-designed iPhone templates available for those wishing to avoid designing a case themselves.

If you’re looking to promote your company, Wrappz also offers great discounts on bulk wholesale orders, shipping internationally to a range of different countries.

Pros:

Here are the benefits of collaborating with Wrappz.

  • Offers wholesale discounts for businesses
  • Range of different templates
  • User-friendly design software

7. Caseable

Caseable started in March 2010 as a single warehouse in Brooklyn. Their founders saw a business opportunity when they couldn’t find stylish and customizable laptop sleeves from local and online stores.

Later on, they began developing other products, ranging from phone cases and covers, laptop bags, tablets, and iPad cases. They have even ventured into selling washable and customizable mouth-nose masks made of 100% polyester. Right now, they also boast of having an office in Berlin and a manufacturing site in Central Germany.

Caseable takes advantage of technology by providing a customization tool on its website, where visitors can create their customized designs for whichever device is selected. They also offer pre-designed cases for those who are not inclined to think up their personalized style.

Pros:

There are several reasons to want to get custom cases and covers from Caseable.

  • Wide and varied design and device selection
  • Free shipping on all orders from the US
  • 30 days return policy

Cons:

Although they do offer discounts, especially to students, it seems they aren’t really geared towards providing for corporations or companies, as their focus is towards customers looking for single unit purchases meant for personal use. So if you’re a company representative or owner looking to purchase bulk cases, they may not be a good option for you.

8. Caseapp

While Caseapp offers pre-designed cases specifically for iPhones, iPads, Samsung, and Google phones only, their phone skins offer a wider range of devices and mobile devices.

They also have a personalization tool within their website which their customers can interact with to create personalized skins or cases for their device.

Pros:

Caseapp seems to be primarily serving individuals, but if you navigate through their website, you’ll find that they do offer an option for wholesale or bulk purchases.

  • Special orders are accepted (8-1000 or more pieces per order can be purchased with corresponding discounts per number of units ordered)
  • They offer gift cards for certain products, which then become non-returnable and nonexchangeable once purchases are made.

Cons:

There are still limitations to their services, though.

  • Their bulk orders (and discounts) are available for slim and tough mobile cases, and Macbook/laptop skins only.
  • They offer free and fast deliveries, however, there’s not much information available about it or to attest to it. Nor is there information if this applies to orders from all over the world or from specific regions only.

9. Zazzle

Renowned for offering a wide range of fully customisable products, Zazzle is one of the industry’s leaders when it comes to custom mobile phone cases.

Zazzle prides itself in their utilisation of cutting-edge technologies, gladly taking on some of the toughest technical challenges in order to make complete customisation a real possibility. Their efforts are geared towards combining both high-tech software and state-of-the-art hardware to turn their customers’ dream products into tangible realities.

Customers are given the ability to create fully-customised phone cases to suit their preferences, adding their own images and text with ease. Zazzle also offers a design interface for users, wherein they’re able to add different shapes and icons by dragging and dropping them into place.

Zazzle also offers speedy international delivery, sending products to their customers’ doorstep in as little as 2-5 working days.

Although the specifics of their offer aren’t displayed within their website, Zazzle does also offer bulk discounts on corporate wholesale items alongside their B2C sales. Whether a customer or a business, Zazzle remains a solid option when it comes to the design and manufacturing of customised mobile phone cases.

Pros:

Zazzle offers these perks to their customers.

  • Fast international delivery
  • Intuitive and user-friendly design interface
  • Offers both B2B and B2C sales

Cons:

We do see a disadvantage to dealing with Zazzle, though.

  • Bulk-buy discounts are not displayed on the website

10. Casetify

Last on our list is LA-based mobile phone case manufacturer, Casetify. Casetify began with a simple premise: allowing customers to transform their Instagram photographs into custom-made phone cases. In recent years, though, the business has quickly evolved into a large-scale retailer, offering a range of bespoke, user-designed cases to their customers.

Casetify’s quirky brand is tailored towards millennials, though their design options provide users of all kinds with the customizability of their products.

These customisation options are, however, relatively limited. Users are given the choice to add text, change its font and alter the colours of their case. But beyond that, elements like images and graphics can’t be added.

As for corporate wholesale, Casetify doesn’t appear to offer bulk discounts or B2B deals. Their site is targeted exclusively at customers wishing to buy products for personal use – though they do offer international shipping.

Pros:

Here are a couple of pros customers can get when transacting with Casetify.

  • International shipping
  • Wide range of attractive designs

Cons:

While there are a couple of limitations we’ve noticed.

  • B2C only
  • Limited customizability options

The Bottom Line Here is Personal Preference

We’ve provided a huge selection of websites above that provide a myriad of options for custom case fans and aficionados out there – all offering perks as well as disadvantages. You may be looking for just one unit for a single device or a dozen pieces of covers for multiple devices. Whatever your needs, be sure the one you choose to transact with can provide it for you.

It’s important to note that although each of these companies may offer some irresistible products and services, the power still lies in your hands.

And although we don’t like to toot our horn, we at Custom Logo Cases provide exceptional service from the initial stages of your design to final production for all bulk orders of phone cases for orders of 10 or more phone cases. For example, if you want phone cases with a logo for your company or looking to put your designs on phone cases, for you to sell them. We understand the worry of finding the right material, which is why we offer free samples. And if you have concerns with your logo, our services range from color matching to design proofing, ensuring you the highest quality print for your custom order.

Before making a final choice, identify which one can provide exactly what you need as to functionality, quality of construction and customization, style, convenience, and value for money.
